I am currently in the progress of transferring the site to a new CMS, Sitecore 6. As you may have noticed this site hasn't been updated for ages - I simply grew out of the CMS I had before and got a little fed up with it, which resultet in no updates at all.

But I'm doing something about that now. Sitecore is a fantastic system, so that should help a lot ;)
I'm a little pressed for time, however, so there's a very real risk I won't complete it for a couple of weeks... as usual.

Finally some news on here :) I've just finished a small project for Steven Wilson to promote his first solo album, which is due for release in November. Check it out at http://insurgentes.org

I have just added another site to my fullsize portfolio. This one is for Danish company NyX, who are the driving force behind a series of innovative projects utilizing the creative minds of the artist community to improve business in the tourist industry.
Århus, August 6, 2007, 23:03

I've added a couple of sites to my fullsize portfolio. The latest one for XLNT Medier, a company in my old business of electronic advertising.
As you can probably tell by the date stamps here, I'm not really updating this site much these days - I guess with the freelance work, my blog, myspace and my actual job, and not to forget, real life, it's all a bit much to squeeze in. But I'm determined not to let it die quite yet - and I have good reason, too. Like the about 400 business cards I still have left with this site address on them ;)

Århus, May 29, 2007, 23:04

Yes, I have now officially become one of those people with both a myspace and a blogger profile. Well, in fact hat happened months ago, but I have only just now decided on giving the blogging a serious try.
The myspace I have mentioned in a previous post, the blog you'll find at deeflate.blogspot.com. Don't worry, though, I'm not likely to be updating either of them on a daily basis +. It's simply not in my nature ;)

Århus, May 17, 2007, 19:27

Nick stumbled upon this very beatifully made short film. Really nice, I like - I think you might too. To find out, see it here.
I should warn you, though, that it does contain a deeper message, so if you're not in to that sort of thing... well, then you should still see it for the visual quality ;)

Århus, May 14, 2007, 20:32

Uh, and by the way, I realized shortly after the crash that the lady I ran into might very well be the lady who was head of education when I studied multimedia design. She looked very familiar, and it struck me, just after we had gone our separate ways, where I knew her from.

Århus, May 14, 2007, 18:41

This afternoon, on my way from work, I had a bike accident. I was going down hill, it was raining and the wind was semi strong and in my back. I was approaching a traffic light which turned yellow and naturally I tried to break, but the break for my rear tire jammed somehow and the front one wasn't strong enough to actually stop me - the wet tires probably didn't help either...
I hit a lady who stopped at the lights in front of me, and we both tumbled down. It was a shocking experience, I must say. It's shit scary when you just don't stop and you can see it coming. I'm still sort of, well, uneasy, I guess, and it was more than three hours ago, but luckily noone got badly injured. She hit her knee and got scrapes on her hand, and I hit my thigh, my hand and my head must have hit the curbe when we tumbled down, cause my bike helmet was cracked - I'm glad I was wearing one!
I didn't try to ride my bike after, because of the defective break, but I took it straight to the shop and it turns out my fork was bent and some other stuff had been broken too. So I am without a bike for the rest of the week for sure.
One good thing, for me, though, is that I didn't continue out onto the crossing road. It sure would be a lot worse getting hit by a car. But that of course doesn't help that poor lady, who was most likely even more shocked than me...

Århus, May 3, 2007, 00:04

So today I'm 26. I'm OK with that :) I had a great day, had some friends over for dinner and got some super cool presents, one of them a 10 cm tall plastic monkey that blows a light air stream which is supposed to dry nail polish. The air flow is hardly there and the thing will probably never come to good use, but I love it.
In the slightly more serious end, I also got an AirPort Express, so in the future I can write these news from the sofa, bed, john or whereever :)

This weekend I'll be throwing two more bashes, but then that's it for this year.

Århus, May 1, 2007, 20:28

Weee! I've just been notified that I won a competetion - the price is a bunch of DVDs, most of which I've been wanting to see/get real bad, so I'm quite the happy little camper today :) And with my birthday coming up tomorrow the timing is impeccable. Thank you MovieZoo for this inadvertent, but excellent, birthday pressie!

Århus, April 21, 2007, 22:24

I just realized I haven't updated here for a while. Sorry 'bout that, but here's a quick catch up: I'm now working full time as a web designer/frontend developer with webdanmark, which I'm really happy with so far. Have been since April 1st. The frontend thing was the company's suggestion - kinda funny, since I wouldn't really call myself a frontend developer, but I guess I'll just need to pick up on some xslt in a hurry ;) Life with my mac is going great. I just got an extra GB ram in today (weee!), which I originally ordered to make sure I'd be able to run XP on here, but it turns out I might not need that anyway. I'm really taking to Mac OS, I must admit. Oh, and I got a flat tire today - drove over some thorny twig-thing. First flat in over two years, though. Don't think I'll get around to fixing it myself anytime soon, so I suppose I'll stop by the local bicycle shop Monday morning. I guess that's all the news for now...

Århus, March 31, 2007, 16:33

It's a beatiful matte black 13,3" and I love it already. My first mac ever is charging right now and I can hardly wait to put it into (good) use.
I'm in a much better mood already and the crash of my old computer is starting to seem like a distant, fading memory ;)

Århus, March 25, 2007, 19:38

My master hard drive gave out this Wednesday, and as a result I lost all of my mail (no, it was NOT backed up...), all of my progs and tons more. Several resque attempts were launched, all failed. It seems the error is mechanical, and noone in this household has the skills to match that. Luckily I've been keeping my projects and work files on a seperate (western digital) drive, so they're safe, but still, I'm pretty bummed. I'm looking into getting a brand new laptop now, but I still haven't decided 100% on make and model. I'll need to get one soon though, as I have loads of work to finish and currently nothing to finish it on. Sucks!

Please help!Because of this recent turn of events, I have a small plee - I'll be trying to rebuild my address book, and any help will be greatly appreciated. Please send me a mail - and if you know any additional addresses you think I ought to have, please send them along as well. Thank you!

Århus, March 15, 2007, 19:00

Weee! I've gotten a part time job helping out the good folks in the front-end department at webdanmark. Hopefully it will turn into a full time thing, but they'll have to see if there's enough work to be done for that to happen - and in the meantime I'm just taking it week by week, happy to have colleagues again :)

Århus, March 1, 2007, 10:51

OK, that's better. I've gotten some sleep and I'm now functioning fairly well again :)
Juste Debout was everything I expected and more! Cool dancers, great atmosphere, lots of good music. In fact the whole trip was was absolutely fantastic. Not a very detailed report, I know, but I don't think I can describe it any better than that ;)

And after meeting a bunch of cool people in Paris I decided I might as well go ahead and get me that myspace profile I've been considering for a while. So now I'm on myspace - http://www.myspace.com/deeflate. Join me there if you like…

Århus, February 28, 2007, 08:49

I think I'll need a day or so to get back down to earth :)

Århus, February 21, 2007, 00:01

Things will be standing still for a little week or so on this site, as I'm going to Paris Friday for this year's Juste Debout on Sunday. I am SO excited! Check out the trailer and see why ;)
I love the excitement of waiting, but I can hardly wait any longer. It is going to be so cool - I want to go right now and every day!

Paris itself is always great, it's an all girls trip and we've thrown in a couple of extra days, so there will be much shopping and rejoycement! I can't see how this could NOT be a fantastic trip, but I'll make sure to report when I'm back online.

Århus, February 14, 2007, 11:53

TapestryYay! Yet another design online!

Things are moving fast here :) I have of course set the new design to the default, as I always do. The design matching my nice business cards and all the other active designs are still available in the style list. However, I have deactivated a layout. I might update it a bit and put it back on, we'll see…

Århus, February 12, 2007, 12:36

Business card Based on a comment from a 1280x960 user I have adjusted one of my designs, which was originally intended for 1600*1200. No major changes, I just made the menu and a few other elements a bit smaller. The design in question is the one matching one of my business cards, and though the elements are no longer proportioned as on the card, the connection should still be pretty clear.
While working on the design, I decided to change the positioning on the menu and style list to fixed, so those whose browsers support this are in for a little extra usability feature ;)

It's currently the default design, but you never know when this changes, so if you're not already looking at it, jump to the design by clicking the image.

Note:
I started working on a new design shortly after posting this, so default has been changed already - feb 14, 2007.
Also, I added an IE fix, so the menus follow nicely along there as well.

Århus, February 11, 2007, 19:56

It's been a little while since anything big last happened on this site, so to make it up to you there are no less than THREE new portfolio entrys today. Enjoy :)

Århus, January 27, 2007, 00:34

Business card New design online - that makes 4 so far :)
This design matches a new set of business cards that should arrive tomorrow or Monday. I'm looking forward to being able to present a consistent graphical line to visitors who might be stopping by on basis of the card. If you're one of those people, then happy greetings to you, and welcome! (All of you other folks are of course welcome too, but I just want to make sure the new card people feel extra welcome and come back again - I hope you understand).

Århus, January 16, 2007, 16:09

I'm still unemployed, so I'm using some of my new found time to extend my skill base. As of now I've gotten myself a PHP hotel and I'm using it to get acquainted with some CM-systems as well as training my PHP scripting. This site will stay put, though, and will stay ASP for now :)

Århus, January 5, 2007, 18:32

I have set it as the new default, but to access one of the old designs simply choose the one you like in the style/look list.

While working on this one, I have made adjustments to the other designs, but nothing major. I have also made a couple of alterations to the structure of the HTML but all styling is still purely CSS. I'm really happy with that decision so far, as I love fiddling around with new layouts. Hopefully I will able to add new ones on a regular basis. Hope you like this one, though, for now :)

Edit: this design was taken offline for improvements (nov 2008)

Århus, January 3, 2007, 12:40

Back from Berlin now; I had an absolutely fantastic trip. The New Year's Show at Brandenburger Tor was great, although quite crowded. But that's to be expected, I guess, with around 1 million party goers on the same street.
To anyone who might be going to Berlin any time soon, I have two recommendations:

The Stasi Museum (www.stasi-museum.de) - it was just SO exciting. It's a privatly funded museum, so unfortunately everything is in German only, but the personnel there were just so serviceminded, and the exhibition itself was really stunning.
It's the original Stasi headquarter building, and some offices are left "as were", so the atmosphere is just as East German as you would expect - and more! The level of paranoia and the gadgets these people developed is absolutely fascinating. I could have spent hours in there, but we visited on the last day and had to catch a train.
We almost missed it alltogether, because we misunderstood the opening hours (Jan 1 was a holiday, we had thought the opening hours were as on a regular Monday), but we must have looked so sad outside that closed door, because a very kind girl took pity on us, let us in and showed us around - even though she had a hungover from New Year's eve! She was absolutely fantastic, but even without her I think the museum will be a great experience, especially if you know just a little about East Germany.

We visited other museums (Jüdisches Museum Berlin and Deutsche Kinemathek, museum for film and television), and they were great too, but I'd say the Stasi Museum was the best one.
It's a little hard to find, because they don't really have marketing funds, but just take the U5 from Alexanderplatz to MagdalenenStrasse and it's right by the station (there's also a map on their site).

The other recommendation is for the restaurant where we dined on Silvester, as the Germans call New Year's Eve: the wine department of Barist (www.barist.de) by Hackesher Markt. We actually had a table in the Weinhandlung, not the restaurant itself, and it was great - very, very cozy (seating less than 20), good food, great wine and very fairly priced. I'm so happy we found it - it was absolutley perfect for our New Year's meal!
I'm not sure they normally serve in the Weinhandlung, but the restaurant looked great as well - you can see it on the site.

Århus, December 28, 2006, 21:00

I'm leaving for Berlin tomorrow morning to celebrate the big night in a big city. I'll be back on 2nd January.
You have a Happy New year now, you hear!?! :)

Århus, December 27, 2006, 20:00

So it's offical! I have quit my job as design & production manager with Retail Internet. They were moving activities to Odense, which is 150 km away, and as a carless commuter it's simply to far.

I'm now looking for a new job. If you know of anything, let me know, thanks ;)

Århus, December 24, 2006, 13:16

Merry Christmas and a happy New Year, y'all!

Århus, December 17, 2006, 17:55

Phew! Still a lot of improvements to be done on this layout.

Improvements are fairly easy, though, as I finally got it together and did the whole thing in CSS - images and all. Should also make a good basis for changing the layout a little more often than I have done so far :)

Århus, December 13, 2006, 23:17

Descreetly, in the still of night, the new site goes online…

Enjoy!

Århus, November 24, 2006, 21:58

Ok, this time I really AM working on a new page design. I won't share the big plans here - that way it won't be as akward when I only find time (precious time) to do half of it…
